Reallocate memory between npars

Hi

 

Is it  possible to reallocate memory from one npar to another on a sx1000?

 

Source npar hosts vpars and dest npar is a vmhost.

Yes and no.

 

It does not work like on a vPar, you need to assign a cell together with all the memory on it to a nPar.

Hi George,

 

no, it is not possible to reallocate memory between two different npars (hard partitions).
The memory is installed on the cell boards, which are assigned to one specific npar.
You could of course change the npar (hard partition) configurations (remove / add cells), but that has to be offline.

If you change npar configurations, remember the rules for best performance / memory interleaving.
