rx1620 efi hang

I am having a strange problem with a 1620 ( 1 cpu 1GB ram, no MP). The boot process hangs with the console output of "CPU0 loading EFI" the system light flashes green. Any ideas?

Well, it seems nothing at all wrong with the server except a bad drive. It was rather the prolific PL2303 USB to RS232 adapter was not handling connection well. Switched to FTDI based adapter and no problems.
