rx2800 i2, convert RAID 0 system disk to JBOD.
We have a new rx2800 i2 with 2 physical drives configured in a RAID 0 array. This disk is the OpenVMS boot disk and I need to break the arrary into two seperate drives without losing any data. Is this possible and if so what is the best procedure.
thx

Re: rx2800 i2, convert RAID 0 system disk to JBOD.
The internal smartarray controller can have one of two modes: RAID or HBA mode.
Your controller is in RAID mode, so you can IMHO only delete and re-create the logical drive -or- using a third disk in raid0 mode too copy the contents.
To switch from RAID to HBA mode you have data loss, so it is up to you what to do now.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
