VLAN routing problem on 1910-8G

I'm having problems routing from my second VLAN. I can't seem to access the other VLAN nor the Internet.

From the standard configuration, this is what I've done:

1. Created the second VLAN with the ID 2.

2. Given ports GE1/0/1-GE1/0/2 untagged membership to VLAN 2.

3. Created a manual VLAN Interface for VLAN 2, with the IPv4 address 10.0.0.1/24 and no IPv6.

I manually plugged in a client to one of the VLAN 2 ports and configured IPv4 with address 10.0.0.10/24 and gateway 10.0.0.1. I could now ping the switch, but nothing else.

4. Added a static entry to IPv4 routing: Destination IP=0.0.0.0, mask=0.0.0.0, next hop=192.168.1.1 (the gateway on VLAN 1), Interface=Vlan-interface1

This did not get me any further.

VLAN 1 works fine, but the gateway there is a second wireless router (from my ISP) connecting directly to the Internet.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: VLAN routing problem on 1910-8G

Sounds like VLAN 2 is working as expected since your client is able to plug in and ping it's default gateway (VLAN 2 IP).

You did not state what is your VLAN 1 IP address, it has to be 192.168.1.X, make sure VLAN 1 IP is able to ping to ISP IP at 192.168.1.1

Your problem is probably the ISP device does not know about 10.0.0.X/24 subnet, therefore it cannot send any traffic back.

If it's not possible to configure the ISP 192.168.1.1 device with a 10.0.0.X/24 static route, you will have to leave your LAN as 192.168.1.X/24 as I don't believe 1910 is able to NAT.
