lvextend mirror

I know this is very basic LVM, but here it goes...

When an LV is extended by mirroring it, do I need to do something

at file system level?

Thanks,

Giovanni

Re: lvextend mirror

you mean you did a "lvextend -m 1 ..." or such like?

Then no, the mirroring operation is invisible to the filesystem. Unless you changed the actual size of the logical volume, there;s nothing to do at the filesystem level.

And to answer another version of the question:

The lvol is already mirrored. If I extend the lvol, will the mirror be extended automatically?

The answer is yes.

Exactly, just as simple as that.

Coming from OpenVMS world, lvm make me a little bit anxious:-)

Thanks for the answer.
