Compiler Bug in Compaq Fortran V5.5-1877

Greetings

I'm using a HP/Compaq Fortran compiler on one of my alpha systems (DS20E) and recently encounter a compiler bug:

Details:
Version:
Compaq Fortran V5.5-1877
Compaq Fortran Compiler V5.5-1877-48BBF
Operating System:
Tru64 Unix V5.1
Processor Type
alpha DS20E
Details of problem:
- bug report while compiling:
f90: Error: flxrnf.F90, line 24: Error in opening the Library module file. [NETCDF]
USE ioipsl ! NetCDF IPSL library -------^
f90: Severe: **Internal compiler error: segmentation violation signal raised** Please report this error along with the circumstances in which it occurred in a Software Problem Report. Note: File and line given may not
be explicit cause of this error.
gmake[1]: *** [../../../lib/oce/libopa.a(flxrnf.o)] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/data12/NEMO/modipsl/modeles/NEMO/WORK'
gmake: *** [opa] Error 2

- background details:
The module in question is one of many in a global ocean general
circulation model (NEMO), so I can't send you the entire source and
details (since that is quite complicated).

I did a bit of a web search for a similar problem and I found a suggestion that this may be fixed if one upgrades the compiler to v5.6.
I wanted to check if this was the case before doing this. If it will fix it, where can I find the patch to download to do the upgrade?

Also, does anyone know the direct email for HP technical support in this area? I tried emailing the fortran support address given on the fortran webpage, dvf_support@format.zko.dec.com, and it bounced.

Paul
