New license for MF Cobol

Hey,
I have recently obtained a new license key for MF Cobol and I wish to install it. Is there a txt file I can amend or do I need to re-install or what is the best/quickest way?

Re: New license for MF Cobol

Hi,

usually the licences is controlled via Flex/Lm.
The licence file shoud be:
/usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat
This file is ASCII.
Think you could add you new licenses by editing this file.

Re: New license for MF Cobol

Hi again,

you should have a start/stop scipt at /sbin/init.d/flexlm for boot/shutdown.
Look within this script for the variable LM_LICENSE_FILE. It tells you where your license file is.
After editing the lic file you have to start/stop the flexlm:
/sbin/init.d/flexlm stop
/sbin/init.d/flexlm start

Re: New license for MF Cobol

Cobol compiled programs canbe run without Flexmgr installed , however to install Flexmgr you would need a Licencising test file . The same can be obtained online at http//licensing.hp.com where in you would require is the machine id , PO No , no of licecnes information. The TXT fiel then can be copied in the repective directory for COBOL flexmgr to run.
