Process IO information

Process IO information

Is there a way a C program can find out how many logical and physical IO operations it has done?

I can get read/write & block information (both for parent and child) from pstat_getproc but no mention of a logical/physical breakdown.

Thanks

Re: Process IO information

Other than looking at all of the structs in the headers in /usr/include/sys/pstat/, I'm not sure how.

Does glance provide this info?
Perhaps this needs that optional product to get that info?

Re: Process IO information

Dennis

Many thanks for the suggestions.

Glance does provide this information so it must be available, I'd just like the process to be able to capture its own statistics.

I've had a look at the pstat files as suggested but can't see anything to help me, so I can only conclude that HP have not made this level of information available to normal user processes.

I'll leave this call open for a few more days in cause anyone else has some suggestions.
