I tried to install the full aCC bundle for 11.11 with the 30 day trial, and the DBA was able to install that package. The next patch he tried to install gave an error because I did not setup the codeword for that install and aCC will not run. Oracle claims, it is OK to install the full aCC trial and keep it past the trial period as long as I do not use the compiler. Can I simply delete the aCC file so it is never executed?
Any suggestion to help me do this the right way would be great.

Re: aCC linker bundle for 11.11
Oracle needs to be re-linked after a major OS patch set.
So what you REALLY need to do is license the necessary tools from HP to compile thismodule.
You can just leave the aCC file sitting there, it will squawk if you try and use it. If you are going to remove it, remove the depot with swremove, do not delete individual files.

Re: aCC linker bundle for 11.11
You should be able to use 'ld' --- the most recent update of which is delivered with PHSS_40549 for 11.11.

Re: aCC linker bundle for 11.11
You only need my aCC_link if you are linking Oracle Apps. And that's only if you have a newer version that knows to use aCC_link.
>it is not available in swinstall for my 11.11 PA-RISC server running the application layer of Oracle. Does anyone know where I can get a aCC linker bundle for 11.11?
We released this on the 11.11 Application media, HP-ACC-Link, HP aCC_link Bundle.
>Oracle claims, it is OK to install the full aCC trial and keep it past the trial period as long as I do not use the compiler. Can I simply delete the aCC file so it is never executed?
Yes, you can keep past the trial.
No, if you remove aCC, you can't link. You might as well swremove the trial version as SEP said.
>I will update this thread with the results of that test and assign points to JRF at that time.
You could also assign points to the author of aCC_link. :-)
>SEP: So what you REALLY need to do is license the necessary tools from HP to compile this module.
The whole purpose of my aCC_link was to be able to install Oracle apps without paying for any HP products. Which would be very expensive for a superdome, since aC++ is licensed by core.
>JRF: You should be able to use 'ld'
No, you must use aCC to link aC++ applications.

Re: aCC linker bundle for 11.11
Looks like one of my contracts is eligible to get App DVD packs 03/2008 11iv1 and 09/2008 11iv1. Is this bundle on one of these?
I tried to get it from the software depot, but I did not see a link for the 11iv1 bundle. Please provide a link if you can.
Thanks
