announcement new FOP version

hello,

do anybody know, when a new FOP version for HPUX will be announced ?

We use the latest version from HP-UX XML Web Server Tools (http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXWSX202), which is FOP 0.20.5. I didn't find another new version on a porting center hpux homepage.

Apache announced last year FOP 0.95. Maybe anybody have experiences with compilation of http://apache.osuosl.org/xmlgraphics/fop/source ? Requirements, etc.

The reason for a new version is, that our programmer department need a newer version than the actual version.

regards,

Re: announcement new FOP version

ok....I'm confused...

Apache site says this is Java app. and it appears from your request that you don't need the source...

you shouldn't need to compile anything if you intend to use it "out of the box".

Re: announcement new FOP version

i found following bad news :
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXWSSUITE

NOTE:
We are discontinuing xmltools starting WSS 3.0 release, which was there as a part of WSS 2.0 releases. We continue to support it under WSS 2.0.

so it is a nonsatisfying situation ! we tried to compile FOP from apache.org (Requirement ANT Apache). The compilation is ok but XALAN seems to be to old ... So it is our job to compile all products...

Why did HP do this ? discontinuing xmltools ? XML is a standard for processing datas of external partners/customers ! So our company is force to use XML !

Re: announcement new FOP version

again...Why are you attempting to "compile" anything?

the implication from the apache site is you simply need to download the binary (but I could be mistaken). If it is truely a Java app (even compiled Java), you should only need the binary distribution.

Re: announcement new FOP version

and, for what it's worth, you might try a similar post in "languages and scripting"....

You shouldn't suggest duplicate threads. Instead ask the moderators to move it there.
Just reply to the following thread with the request:
