LR 11 and Windows 7?

by on ‎07-24-2012 08:38 AM

According to the requirements for LR 11, Windows 7 is not listed at all.   Can someone tell me when LR 11 will support Windows 7 and which flavor (32 v 64) for at least the VuGen and Analysis modes?

Windows 7 is supported by LR 11. Be sure to have Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) set to at least "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only."

Also, be sure that you do not have anti-virus/spyware software that may be interfering with LoadRunner. In many cases, adding an exception to the anti-virus software for LoadRunner will resolve those issues.

Also, check your Windows UAC (User Access Controls) settings and your user permissions. From the LR 11 readme:

  • To run LoadRunner on Windows 7 or Window Server 2008, you must have Administrator privileges and User Account Control (UAC) must be disabled.

Finally I want to address 64 bit support. LR 11 will work on a 64 bit OS. This includes Win 2008 and Win 7 64 bit. The catch is, even if installed on a 64 bit OS - LoadRunner/Vugen will only be able to record 32 bit applications. So, if you install LR on a 64 bit OS - you can gain added benefits such as larger memory recognition for the system - beter head space memory management for certain protocols - but you will only be able to record against a 32 bit app.

When I record a script then Password is shown in recorded script.

I want to know that how sensitive data like password or debit card number is handled in Load Runner.

Waiting for response.

There is a tool called Password Encoder under HP Load Runner Tools,

Copy your value to be encoded and "Generate"

Copy the encoded string and use in the below format

"Name=SWEPassword", "Value=(lr_decrypt("38620da61ca1093e7aa7ec"))", ENDITEM,

I am using LR 11.52 and AJAX Truclient Protocol. I am trying to write the variable to external file (Notepad) and i tried using the IO(write) functionality and failed. Can someone explain me how to write the code to capture the variable in external file which is location on my desktop screen. I referred the LR document but there are no examples to explain this. Earlier we use to have the document with examples so it was easy to do this.

Please help me with the following errors that I receive in VUgen 11.52

C Interpreter run time error....

Error -- memory violation : Exception ACCESS_VIOLATION received.

Both errors appear one after another in the same script.

I am using VUgen 11.52 (up to patch 4) with Windows 7.

I used to use VUgen 9.5.

I am working with Web Service Scripts on secure https:// websites. So I am using a pem certificate.

On VUgen 9.5 everything works fine.

And even in VUgen 11.52 I see the response from the server in extended logs but the response does not save in the response parameter.

I run the script in VUgen 9.5 and 11.5 and compared the extended logs. Everything looks the same in the logs until I get the error.

What is this parameter - ResponseAttachmentsCount?  It is not part of my script, it must be part of VUgen configurations or something. Is this what is causing my script to fail?

I tried all of the options for working with VUgen 11.5 and Windows 7 mentioned above. They do not help.
