Unable to record simple Http/html script

Hi,

Currently I am evaluating Loadrunner for a project and am having some issues with the basics of loderunner.  Right now I am trying to record a basic http/html script where it just opens google in IE.  I set the application to IE i set the url to www.google.com and hit start recording and then IE will launch and it will try to hit google but IE comes back stating that it is unable to open the address.

If i try to open google normally myself I can get there fine.  I have added VUgen to my firewall already in case.  This is a fresh install of loderunner.

My specs are

VuGenL 11.50 Build 2216

IE: 9.0.8112.16421

Windows: Windows 7 enterprise service pack 1 (32 bit)

Hardware: 2.5ghz i5 cpu, 4gb ram

I have been trying to research the issue but cannot find a resolution and it's most likely some setting I am missing but I am unable to find it.

If it helps here is some of the network analyzer info looks like it might be some kind of proxy issue maybe?  How might i resolve?

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

If you are not able to disable the Firewall in order to test, then try checking the port mapping settings and disabling UAC on the machine.

For port mapping settings try creating an entry, leave everything default and set the Record Type to Direct, connection type Auto.

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

That fixed the same error for me.  I always got the message, "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", but after creating the Port Mapping entry described above, it now successfully navigates to the page.

Thanks!

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

This got me past the the issue of getting the Internet Page Cannot Be Displayed error.   However, even though I can navigate the application, there are no Actions being recorded?   When I hit stop, the only thing in the Actions are my comments, even though the # of Events looks normal??

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

Hi,

Disable antivirus software and  TLS 1.2 in the browser during recording if you are using LoadRunner 11.0x or 11.5x.

If you still experience issues you can try with Proxy Recoring:

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

Look at the LoadRunner installation guide.  There are a number of configuration steps that are needed - like disable UAC and DEP.

Re: Unable to record simple Http/html script

I had the same issue 2 days ago. Actually i am kinda new with Hp Loadrunner. I read some technical documents about troubleshooting, FAQ and etc...

After adjusting the port mapping, now i am totally able to navigate web page with loadrunner. I tried Loadrunner on the different computer, but i had no problem with that computer. Loadrunner was same version for each computer.

Before adjusting port mapping option, i tried to pull down security level of IE at the lowest state. Then i created certificate for site that i tried to navigate.  ı also disabled the antivirus program. Then i adjusted the port mapping settings.

I am not sure but i think there is a problem about compability between OS and Loadrunner.  Esspecially if it is 32 bit OS. And if it Windows.

Sum of all i am looking for exact reason of  "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Because i just followed the steps, but really i dont have any idea what i did and why i did And why IE cannot display the webpage because of port mapping options. I hope you will figure it out.

Regards...
