SendMail CyrusSASL version

Hello,

 

I am currently facing some issues when trying to configure outgoing authentication (PLAIN, no TLS) for sendmail 8.13.3, using CyrusSASL 2.1.25. In the 'Sendmail 8.13.3 Secure Mailing Solution' document, I just noted that the recommened version of CyrusSASL is 2.1.21, with specific warnings for version 2.1.22.

 

So my questions are: should I downgrade CyrusSASL to version 2.1.21, or are the issues with 2.1.22 solved in 2.1.25? And is CyrusSASL needed at all for outgoing authentication?
