Since about one mounth i have serious trouble on some servers LC2000/LH3/LC3.
All server running W2K with Sp4 with all MS patch.
SNMP task eating 99% of cpu and a lot of memory (50 MB or above).
If i try to stop service, it remain in stopping... Only solutions is disable snmp service. Anyone has same trouble? Any ideas to resolve it ?

Re: LC2000- LH3 - LC3 SNMP trouble

Hi Fab,

This is a known issue with the Microsoft Update Rollup 1 running on Netservers. You can do one of two things:
1. If you are not managing the servers remotely with Intstant TopTools, go into your Add/Remove Programs list and uninstall HP Server Agents.
2. If you do need to manage the servers remotely with instant TopTools, go into your Add/Remove Programs and select "Add/Remove Windows Components". Select management and monitoring tools and click on "Details". Then remove check mark from SNMP.

Reboot the servers after making these changes and your problems should be solved.

Let us know how that goes,
