Hello out there !
are there any differences between
DIMM 256, ECC, 133, CL3
types:
8266A and 1818-7840
Or is 1818-7840 an internal number for a
8266A. Is there any official statement ?
Best regards, Stephan

Solution
Stephan,
Normally 4x4 hp product numbers are non-orderable factory numbers. http://partsurfer.hp.com is able to give a description of your D8266A memory but can't find the 1818-7840 number. Does your memory have both numbers on it?
Ciao,
Greg

Re: Memory difference ? 8266A and 1818-7840
Hi Craig,
on my DIMM (i have only one) is a label signed 1818-7840. It LOOKS like eqal to a 8266A and has obviousely the same layout.
The DIMM is placed with SAMSUNG Chips.
SAMSUNG Code: pc133r-333-542-b2

Re: Memory difference ? 8266A and 1818-7840
1818-7840 appears to be half of this part:
A1286A = 512MB (2 x 256MB) 133 MHz DIMM for use in the X & P class workstations.
These workstations are not Intel-based. These are older HP Enterprise systems (MPE or HP-UX).
No other specifications on this memory was found.
