Netserver LC2000 identify failed drive
I have a failed disk drive in a RAID 0 array on a Netserver LC2000, but all the drive bays on the front of the case have green lights. How can I tell which one to replace? I can see the failed drive listed in the mega manger raid software, but there is nothing to indicate which drive bay it is in. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thank you.
By the way, this is running SCO Openserver 5.0.5. Its ancient, I know.

Re: Netserver LC2000 identify failed drive
Hi,
I'm guessing that a SCSI ID has been associated to the errors that you have seen so you will know which one to pull?
The following is based on having LP disks installed (up to a max of 6 disks)
If the server is floor mounted (standing vertically:
Slot 6 SCSI ID9 (TOP slot)
Slot 5 SCSI ID8
Slot 4 SCSI ID3
Slot 3 SCSI ID2
Slot 2 SCSI ID1
Slot 1 SCSI ID0 (Bottom Slot)
Or if the server is rackmounted (on its side):
Slot 1 SCSI ID0 (LEFT most Slot)
Slot 2 SCSI ID1
Slot 3 SCSI ID2
Slot 4 SCSI ID3
Slot 5 SCSI ID8
Slot 6 SCSI ID9 (RIGHT most Slot)
HTH
Phil
