Remote Control Card
I just bought a used LH3000-Server with HP P1218A Remote Control Card. I also managed to set an IP-address on that card but I can't use it because the card asks for a username and password that I don't have (the vendor was a dealer specialised on used hardware so I can't just ask the last owner). Is there a way to reset the password? Does anyone have a manual for that card (e.g. as a pdf-file)?
Thanks for your help,

Re: Remote Control Card
the Navigator cdrom that comes with the Netservers has such utility. It is a DOS based utility so you need to copy it to a floppy and boot into DOS to run it.
The default user/pwd for the TTRC is ADMIN/ADMIN (both uppercase, did you tried that ?
If that does not work then use the utility to clear the cards user config.
It is located in cdrom:\ttrc\ttrcrst.exe and attached here for your convenience.

Re: Remote Control Card
here is the last F/W for the card, flash it first if needed before reconfiguring the card since a F/W upgrade might reset the user dbase.

Manuals can be found here:

If you do have a navigator cd then the 'Toolbox' also allows to reset the user database on the TTRC card, boot from the navigator cd, choose server and OS type and go in the toolbox.

Re: Remote Control Card
thanks for your help. I can access the card now. Is there any way to obtain a new Navigator CD since my server didn't come with it?

Re: Remote Control Card
their are no .iso images downloadable (copyright) but you probably can buy some on the internet.
The last that ever released for LH3000 and alike servers was M.04.05, way back in 2002.
You don't really need it, the drivers and agents on the HP.com drivers download site are more recent then what was released at that time on the Navigator CD.

Re: Remote Control Card
I have a similar problem with a TTRC2 card that I don't know the username and password for (tried ADMIN/ADMIN). I've downloaded the ttrcrst.exe utility attached to this thread, but when I try to use it I get the error "This program requires Microsoft Windows".
I've created a couple of different DOS boot disks - one from XP and another from Win95 - and both end up with this problem.
Have I done something wrong here? I thought the utility was supposed to run from a standard DOS boot disk?
Thanks!
Matt.

Re: Remote Control Card
i made a mistake, you need to boot from the Navigator cd and use the toolbox to run this reset utility for security reasons, it cannot be run online from the OS itself.
I seem to remember their has been a version that worked from DOS in the old days.

Re: Remote Control Card
Email me with the serial number of the Netserver and a full mailing address. Looks like UK and Germany need one, contact me at terri.harris@hp.com.
