REGARDING: HP TopTools Remote Control Card [RCC] with Battery
Partsurfer throws up 2 part numbers for the above...
A]D6028A. [obsolete] RCC version 1
B]P1218A. RCC version 2
My Client has an old LPr NetServer & needs a suitable second hand RCC for it
Partsurfer says that both A] & B] would do the job
However my client disagrees
He says that his LPr uses a PCI bus which therefore requires the use of A] & that B] is exclusively for the extended PCI bus found on later models of NetServer [such as the LC2000]. He reckons that the two cards are physically different in terms of size & number of pins.
Who's right?

Re: Which Remote Control Card?
I sent both cards to my client...
P1218A doesn't work with his LPr, but does with his LC2000
D6028A however was fine with the LPr

Re: Which Remote Control Card?
You did not write how it "doesn't work" but e.g. discharged battery on the card may cause server to hang at first boot, the server may have too old BIOS, the card may have too old firmware, it could have been installed incorrectly (was the I2C/IPMI cable connected?) and who knows what else...
