Hi,
My customer just purchased/ installed 2 NAS 1500s. These are rated at 320 GB of RAW DISK space. I understand they come configured with RAID 5. Assuming RAID 5 - how much useable disk space should we be seeing, including OS?
Thanks

Solution
Useable data space, about 210GB. Due to hard drive capacity specs, this number may vary. I took 320GB raw (80 per disk), subtract approx 9GB per disk (accounts for pri/backup OS). This leaves approx 70GB per disk, subtract 70GB for the RAID5 disk leaves approx 210GB space for data. I have a 1TB (250GB disks) 1500s model and the Adaptec Controller shows 671GB data space. Hope this helps.

Re: NAS 1500s - RAID 5
It is possible to change to RAID 0 or 1, but currently, it is not supported by HP.
