I am trying to upgrade a NAS500S tower with additional memory Does anyone know how much the board will support? And, Will it support greater than 1Gb Modules in the four DIMM slots?

Re: NAS500S

Hi John,
The 500s was built on the ML110 (G1) platform. The system will support a maximum of 4GB (This is both the hardware and Software limit) Here are the HP parts for this platform.
256MB of Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit
(1 x 256 MB)
354557-B21
512MB of Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit
(1 x 512 MB)
354560-B21
1024MB of Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit
(1 x 1024MB)
354563-B21

Greater than 1GB modules are not qualified in this platform.
Please remember that the Standard x86 OS will not support any more than 4GB of memory. Also, you may have to add the /PAE switch to your boot.ini file to enable the full 4GB (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283037)

Hope this helps,
Jon Paul
