X1800 Raid question

Our new X1800 is configured with Raid 1 on two 300 GB SAS disk witch 50 Gb size.
Rest of the aize on these disks are unused.
Can I use the the unused size with the other 6 disk to creata a Raid5 partition?

Hello,

sure you can. But you can add those six disks to the existing array and use the newly added spare (over all eight disks) to create an additional RAID 5 logical volume within that array.
