Re: where do I connect USB DVD drive on NAS S1000

The s1000 does not support the USB DVD. The earliest 1u NAS device that supports this media option is the 1200s.

When I look at a manual on line for NAS S1000 it shows two USB ports.

Janie,

Are you able to boot into your backup OS? If you are able to access the backup OS, that is where you perform a restore from. If you are unable to get into the S1000 secondary os, then your only option that I'm aware of is a whole unit replacement if it is still under warranty.

Re: where do I connect USB DVD drive on NAS S1000

Hello Janie,

the NAS s1000 doesn't have a USB-Port.

Try to recover with the QuickRestore DVD over SCSI. If you have got a SCSI-DVD-Device.

Then it should work.

Chris is right. The NAS 1000s (and not s1000) has got USB-Ports where you can recover the system.

Hope your recovery-action works.

Alexander :-)
