What type of tape drive?
The quickspecs show that it has:
PCIe slot (open)
USB Ports (4)

A SAS Tape Drive for example. What I mean to say is to attach the SAS Tape Drive at the back of this NSS using a PCI-E SAS Card and install the backup sotware into the x1400 NSS itself. This is workable right?

Does your OS and backup software support your card and drive?

NAS OS is WSS 2008 R2, it should support a Symantec Backup Software or an HP DPS right?

Re: x1400 NSS, Can I directly attach a Tape Drive at the back of an x1400 NSS?
Hi, can anyone give me an answer here please.
I would like to attach a 1/8 Autoloader SAS Drive to a SAS HBA installed in the x1400 NAS PCI-E expansion slot. Then launch the Data Protector Express from the x1400, Can it be done?
