Configure Web Launcher

Hi everybody,

How i can configure Web Launcher into different people login have different right or user role?thx

Hi ,

The Launcher uses the user roles file htgroup to define what list items are
visible from the Launcher window. When a user logs in, his or her role is
verified, and then he or she can access the URLs assigned to that specific
role.

NetworkAdmin: +
NetworkOper: +
NTAdmin: +
NTOper: +
UNIXAdmin: +
UNIXOper: +
OVAdmin: +

There are various users that can be created as mentioned above .The + sign indicates that all users have all rights.Incase we want to restrict the rights for specific user we can restrict it in the following format

NetworkAdmin: user1 user2

HI Timeout,

If you want to configure web launcher for differnt people,go to HPOPENVIEW/www/etc/htgroup file.Open this file in wordpad and edit the file as you want.


I think it may help you to resolve this issue.

hello

if you are using windows environment, then go to the following dir. install dir\www\conf and then open the file session.conf, edit it.
change
UserLogin: on
LoginLogging: on
AccessLogging: on

then from command prompt execute this command.
ovhtpasswd ..press enter

THX everybody,

I had already added the user in group 'NetworkAdmin'& 'NetworkOper'.But i can't see the different in the user role of them.Is it need to activate or some more configure?

What have u done in the Htgroups file?

I mean to say that which types of users have u added in HTGROUPS FILE that is OS or u created new users in NNM For web Launcher?

I had already created user 'root' & 'operator'.And add into the file htgroup as below:

NetworkAdmin: root
NetworkOper: operator
