HP NNMi 9.10: SPI Traffic can not get data from devices

Hi Experts,

I'm using NNMi 9.10 and spi Performance Traffic in the same server ( on Windows). I did configure following these steps:

NNMi server:

- Enable spi for traffic, configuring "leaf collector" for 2 vendor are cisco and Juniper ( pls see detail in attachment). Then started them and Running is ok.

Network devices:

-  Cisco: using command

(config)#interface FastEthernet 0/0
(config)#ip route-cache flow
(config)#exit
(config)#ip flow-export destination <Ip NNMi server> 9996
(config)#ip flow-export source FastEthernet 0/0
(config)#ip flow-export version 5
(config)#ip flow-cache timeout active 1
(config)#ip flow-cache timeout inactive 15
(config)#snmp-server ifindex persist

- Juniper (ex4200):

et protocols sflow collector  <Ip NNMi server> udp-port 6343
set protocols sflow interfaces ge-0/0/0.0
set protocols sflow interfaces ge-0/0/1.0
set protocols sflow polling-interval 5
set protocols sflow sample-rate 100

After that, I'm using Wireshark software testing recived from NNMi server, It can recive sflow package from juniper devices. But on NNMi server can not get any traffic from devices, got error" No data available"

Please help me solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Re: HP NNMi 9.10: SPI Traffic can not get data from devices

Hi experts,

How long NNMi spi for Traffic get data flow from devices? after configuring Traffic or some hours later ?

Re: HP NNMi 9.10: SPI Traffic can not get data from devices

Hi experts,

The NNMi stored flow packets following :

<Data_Dir>\shared\traffic-leaf\data\<Leaf_Collector_Instance>\<IP_Address_of_Source>

That meaning Leaf Collector works well. So maybe the problem here is “Master Collector”. NPS server can not get data from Master Collector that why NPS can not create Report. The report get error “ No data available”

Could you give any troubleshooting for this problem?

Hi,

Configure two different leaf collector:

1) For Cisco , Collector type : netflow,  Listen port: 9996

2) For Juniper, Collector  type : sflow,  Listen port: 6343

In ip: provide the ip address where you have installed leaf

I hope this is helpful.

Tarun

Hi,

In order to make sure that you are getting traffic from those devices please install wireshark or tcpdump and make a filter of the IP address of the devices if you wanted to be more specifict please add the port in the filter.

Hi,

Also you can check the following:

1. That the ports between master and leaf have been opened and firewalls are not interfering in leaf-master communication.
2. That the leaf collector port listening for netflow packets is open using netstat

3. If flows are being exported to leaf using Wireshark/tcpdump on the leaf system
