Installing mib

Hi I have been trying to install a mib thru NNM and keep coming with errors. By any chance can it be the NNM version which is 7.51. Can you tell me if I need to install any patches of anything particular to it to work? Is there a way to compile the mib to make it work.

Re: Installing mib

Hello Shavor,

please provide a screenshot of the error. In most cases the mib file contains an error or you have to load another mib prior to your mib (NNM requires that you load the mib files in the correct order - see IMPORTS in the file).

Re: Installing mib

What version of NNM are you running and on which platform.

Also include the error message.

Most common mib compilation errors are dependant mibs must be installed first. The best way to check to see if there are dependancies is to look at the IMPORTS to see which other mibs are required.

Another common error is something like "end expected on line 137" In this case just go to line 137 and insert the word 'end', and try to load again.

Re: Installing mib

IT's NNM 7.51 on HP_UX
I loaded the cmmon.mib, then the acd.mib as instructed.
The error message is:
Error detected while loading MIB File: /var/opt?OV/share/snmp_mibs/acd.mib.
This MIB cannot be loaded until the following problem is corrected.

APECT_MIB- Line22 :Error while not parsing module: found: 'ACD.MIB"

Re: Installing mib

When I downloaded the ACD.mib

It see these pre-requisites. I think ASPECT-MIB is what needs to be loaded first?

IMPORTS
acd
FROM ASPECT-MIB
OBJECT-TYPE
FROM RFC-1212
DisplayString
FROM RFC-1213;

Re: Installing mib

I tried to load the ACD.MIB first but came up with the same error except for Line 24 error while not parsinga module found.

Re: Installing mib

Was it the ACD mib you tried to load first or the ASPECT-MIB?

Is this for the Aspect/ACD phone systems?

Re: Installing mib

I only have the ACD.mib and commmon.mib, so I'm not sure what you mean by saying aspect mib.

Re: Installing mib

I downloaded the ACD.mib, and I opened the mib to view its contents. The ACD mib has a prerequisite. The ASPECT-MIB must be loaded before the ACD.mib.

I also remember in a previous post, of yours, you included the error when you loaded the ACD.mib, and it said the following.

"APECT_MIB- Line22 :Error while not parsing module: found: 'ACD.MIB""

I think APECT_MIB is misspelled and should have been ASPECT_MIB. Otherwise I'm looking at a coincidence?

Re: Installing mib

I went ahead and tried to load the acd.mib into NNM7.53 on Solaris and got the same error you did.

Line 24 does refer to the followint within the acd.mib file.
"ACD-MIB DEFINITIONS ::= ^M"

This tells me it is looking for one of the following IMPORTS or pre-requisites.

ACD-MIB DEFINITIONS ::= ^M
BEGIN^M
^M
IMPORTS^M
acd^M
FROM ASPECT-MIB^M
OBJECT-TYPE^M
FROM RFC-1212^M
DisplayString^M
FROM RFC-1213;^M

Re: Installing mib

So that means there is another part right. Could it be ref.mib.cc911.pdf?

Re: Installing mib

Yes, there is another part.

I recommend going here - http://portal.aspect.com/AccountRequest/newcustomer.jsp

Find out where you can download the ASPECT-MIB(s) your looking for because its not anywhere I can find.

Re: Installing mib

Did you find a source for the ASPECT-MIB file? I am running into the same problem trying to compile the MIB collection. I have only the ACD and COMMON MIB files and have been unable to locate the ASPECT-MIB file. I am not an Aspect owner, however. I am working on alarm monitoring for a customer who manages about 40 of these systems. Does anyone have information on ASPECT-MIB? Thanks, Kathy.

Re: Installing mib

I know it has been a few years, but i need the Aspect-mib now. Have you ever found that mib?

Thanks,
