NNM Extended Topology 2.0 and IPv4

Hi there

ET 2.0 supports IPv6.On our network we are running IPv4.Will ET 2.0 be able to gather information and provide views for IPv4?Does anyone know?

Thanks

In short yes. NNM ET supports IP v4 and IP v6. To enable support for V6 you have to load the IPv6 stack. IP4 is supported with no additional requirements.

Hi Tom

Thanks for the response
How is the quality of the alarm different for 6.4 with or without ET 2.0,apart from the dynamic views?
Can you recommend the activation of ET..

Dube,

What do you mean with Alarm quality. ET enhances the default NNM 6.4 correlations with some own circuits, for example some ECS circuits specifically designed for HSRP.

All in all I think the dynamic views can be a valuable add-on (if you really use things like OSPF/HSRP/Vlan`s). Please do check wheter your devices are supported by ET. Also (if possible) try it out on a seperate machine. Do not activate ET on a production machine, as it will flush the existing NNM DB`s.

Re: NNM Extended Topology 2.0 and IPv4

Hi Tom

All I was trying to find out was that does ET have an influence on the alarms collected from devices or its just provides dynamic views for trouble shooting?

Thanks
