ciscocat2950 card model number and firmware information is not seen

we have ciscocat2950 / 2960 access switches in NNM9i getting monitored.

for 2960 - access swicthes the card information with model number and firmware version looks good in the cards inventory report.

for 2950 - model , the model number is seen as GBIC_SX / GBIC_T / GBIC_LX / GBIX_CX_GIGSTACK and also the firmware version is blank in the card inventory report.

The wronf data or missing data is with ciscocat2950 model access swicthes.

Has anyone come across this situation. Need information on the same.

Thanks and Regards,

DVN

Re: ciscocat2950 card model number and firmware information is not seen

If you run the following snmpwalk:

nnmsnmpwalk.ovpl <IP Address of node card is hosted on> entPhysicalTable

The physical address entry will be displayed.  Examine the values to determine what the hosting node is returning for model number and firmware values for the card.

Here is part of that output from a test I ran:

...

 entPhysicalTable.entPhysicalEntry.entPhysicalFirmwareRev.1001 : OCTET STRING- (ascii): 12.2(20)SE4

...

entPhysicalTable.entPhysicalEntry.entPhysicalModelName.1001 : OCTET STRING- (ascii): WS-C3750G-48TS-S

...

This is the information coming from the host and what NNMi will use to populate it's fields.
