What is the default packet size on HP-UX, and if you wanted to tune that setting how would you do that ?

Hi Elizabeth,

Default TCP packet size is 1500 bytes.
Size can be determined with the lanadmin command as follows:

lanadmin -m X

where X=PPA - 0 for lan0

It's fixed at 1500 for 10/100 cards & can be increased for Gig-E cards in the file /etc/rc.config.d/hpietherconf up to a max of 9000 bytes. This is known as "jumbo frames".
