Lan ports down and no reason why

All

I am running a bl870ci2 in a standard blade chassis, its running hpux 11vi3 patched to march 2015. We wanted to move it to another chassis but when we went to move it we realalized the new chassis had different switches in it so we put it back. When we powered  it back up some of my lan ports wont show as up...This box has a floating IP address since its my DR box.

I cant figure out how to get the ports to go active?  The Network teams says they see connection in the cisco switches..but this is what i see.  And they all should be up and part of a APA group..if i go into the group it shows that there is 2-3 connections and if i go into each LANX it shows that they are connected to the APA groups..

Any help would be appreciated..i

Re: Lan ports down and no reason why

Output of

# nwmgr -S apa

could be useful.

What interconnects does the enclosure have?

These are likely the LOM ports of the second blade, how about the first blade of the BL870ci2?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Lan ports down and no reason why

So you have 3 APA interfaces at the first blade. Maybe they are paired with the second blade.

You can try to investigate from the host with commands like

# nwmgr

# # nwmgr -g -v -c lan5

# nwmgr -S apa -I 910 -v

for example, but I guess the more important view is from the switch.

Hope this helps!

Re: Lan ports down and no reason why

Interface State =DOWN
Probable Cause for State = Cable disconnect

No link. Since you cannot disconnect a cable inside the blade enclosure, there is likely a switch port down for any reason.

Hope this helps!

Re: Lan ports down and no reason why

1 blade replaced? Then it has new MAC addresses, if they are used for security.

Is this blade completely up?

Hope this helps!

Re: Lan ports down and no reason why

Yes the primarty blade is up and working on the network without issue, its the secondary IP (floating IP) for ensemble that isnt working..We believe its all thru the secondary blade.
