Open SNMP Port

Hi,

 

how can i open the 161,162 ports on my system 11.31, because i working to configure the IRS on our company.

for that i need to open this

port 162 from managed system and IRS server

port 161 from IRS server to managed system

 

from firewall this done but i still can't access

 

# telnet 19.168.1.50 161
Trying...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused


# swlist -l product | grep -i snmp

 OVSNMPAgent           B.11.31        HP-UX_SNMP_Agent_Product

The "ManagedSystemsConfigurationGuide" has a chapter about HP-UX servers. You will see it is using WBEM, not SNMP.

Follow the guide!

In order for a port to be open there must be some process running that is listening for a connection on that particular port.

 

If there is no process running then it doesn't matter what you do, that port will not be "open".

As said, you need the WBEM and diagnostics (SFM) bundle. Get it from http://software.hp.com
