Open VMS Alpha OS Versio 7.2
Open VMS and SNMP
I need to change the default SNMP configuration to have no private or public strings and I do not know the command line sequence to do this.
P.S. this thread has been moevd from Community Feedback & Suggestions to OpenVMS > Networking. - HP Forum Moderator

Re: Open VMS Alpha OS Versio 7.2
If you have no private or public community strings, why have SNMP enabled?
What version of TCPIP are you running may be different for which files or locations the SNMP is located. If you are using a different IP stack, then this won't even help any.
If you are on a newer version of TCPIP this should show what community strings you have setup:
tcpip show config snmp/full
type SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$SNMP]TCPIP$SNMP_CONF.DAT
If the strings are setup in the SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$SNMP]TCPIP$SNMP_CONF.DAT file, then edit the file to remove them.
If the community strings are setup in the tcpip config, then you remove them via : tcpip set config snmp /nocommunity="name"
