Who to configure DHCP client, server on NT

Hello friends,
one more question:
I want to use DHCP on a HP C3000 and a HP C3600.
Machines are configured to use fixed IP now, no DHCP.
Setting DHCP_ENABLE[0]=1 in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
and reboot results in the following auto_parms.log: Lease valid, but not updated for lan 0.
System is still using the old IP adress
Thanks

Have you left a backup copy of your netconf file in /etc/rc.config.d ? If so try moving it to /tmp or similar ?

Also could you post the current netconf file to the forum it would be useful ? Sounds like there's a synatx error or mistake in there possibly ?

Re: Who to configure DHCP client, server on NT

Hello Alex,
all I did was changing DHCP_ENABLE from 0 to 1.
Left everything else in netconf as it was before.
Maybe this is wrong !
Can you give me more details about configuring a DHCP client.

Bettina:

I think the easiest way to enable DHCP would be to use SAM -> Networking and Comunications -> Network Interface Cards, select the card and select Action.. Configure... select the Enable DHCP button, and viola.

cheers
nothing wrong with me that a few lines of code cannot fix!

Re: Who to configure DHCP client, server on NT

I configured DHCP Client now via SAM.
But no results.
The following error occured:
While rebooting I get the following message:
/sbin/auto_parm: Checking for DHCP servers ...
/sbin/auto_parms[10]: 0^J1: Syntax error

/etc/auto_parms.log: Lease valid but not updated for: lan0

Maybe any patch needed ??
Thanks Bettina
