hp-ux server is failing with socket read failed. Kindly check the
host name resolution.


How to solve this issue..

At Torsten suggests, we need to know a great deal more about this error message - is that the complete message? What application is emitting it?

How a socket read can involve host name resolution is beyond me and suggests the code isn't all that good. Hostnames should have been resolved long before one has started reading from a socket...
