Add-on CD-writer

I have a model 8485Z and would like to add a CD-writer. Internal or External? Any recommendation for product? Do i need to remove the internal CD or can two CDs co-exist on the same system? The front panel has the CD, Zip, USB connection, and A drive so it's full. Would appreciate any suggestions.
