Cloning Worm Media

hello

I need to clone some Worm media that are part of a optical library, I want to do this job off-line to not impact the production system.

The disk are 9.1 Gb Worm

I have available two stand alone 9100mx drive to do that.

I was wondering if someone have a tool in order to do the exact copy of one disk to another.

Any solution or suggestion are welcome

Re: Cloning Worm Media

I'm not sure this tool will support 9.1 Gb worm with 4048 by/sector. Window need an application to manage them

Re: Cloning Worm Media

Marino,
NO, these suggestions will not work for what you have in mind. The problem with all of the utilities that are mentioned including Ghost is that it does not handle the blank sectors that occur on WORM media.

You will need to work with your ISV on this, or I believe you and I have spoke in the past feel free to email me again and I will discuss this further if you like.

Re: Cloning Worm Media

Hi Dave,

this customer was using Eistream Software

Eistream can do a backup copy of the disk (it is a facility of the software)

when you have the backup copy, the software (Eistream) have the ability to promote the backup copy as the primary disk.

that what we do in order to have a exact copy of the primary media.
