NX9420 DVD ram drive will not open with button push

I have an office with 3 nx9420 laptops that have problems with the dvd drive opening. It will open about every 20-30 times the button is pressed. I have tried replacing the dvd drive with no success. I then replaced the system board which appeared to fix it for a few weeks, but it is back to where it was. The other laptops open very quickly with just one press of the button. The disks are readable once they are in the drive and have never failed to open with a paperclip. I have tried it within windows and also within the bios and during the boot proccess with the same results. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Even though it sounds like a hardware issue, you said that you have changed both the motherboard and the dvd drive.
I would suggest therefore to update your bios to the latest version.
