Windows XP "Code 41" Error After install of DLA 3.1 for dvd100i

I tried to upgrade the DLA software from 3.0 to 3.1 in Windows XP, and now XP no longer sees my dvd100i drive.

Device manager tells me that the "drivers were loaded, but the device is not found, Code 41".

How can I re-install the dvd100i, and upgrade to DLA 3.1 without this happening again? Do I install DLA 3.1 first, and then re-install the dvd100i, or vice-versa?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Windows XP "Code 41" Error After install of DLA 3.1 for dvd100i

Before u are going to do this, a little warning. U are responsible if something goes wrong.

Do like this: Go to the registry editor. Make a backup of your registry before attempting this.

Go into: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet

There could be multiple controlsets. It could be for example:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001

Now, locate the following key and highlight it in the left window of the Registry Editor.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Now in the right windows, you should see something like:
LowerFilters = CDR4_2K
UpperFilters = PWD_2K

But there can be some variations. Now delete the upper and lower filters.

After that reboot the comp. Now the units should be detected again.
If the software won??t work. Reinstall it.
Now it should work.
