hp surestore 5200ex - get data off optical platters?

I need a utillity or a method that will let me get data of the optical platters. Windows does not see them at all and I have had no luck with linux either.

I am using a RATOC SCSI to USB and this may be part of the problem...

Please advise.

If you can - please describe a method that will allow me to dump the contents of optical platters to files.
