DVD is not playing after upgrading OS from 98 to XP (HP 8650C)

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my HP Pavalion 8650C operating system from windows 98 to XP Pro. After that I am not able to play any DVDs. I can explore the cds through windows explorer.
