Different HBA's in the same server

Any reason why i cannot put a A5158 HBA fibre card in a server that has A6795 fibre cards? this server is running HPUX, 11i. Thanks

None whatsoever. I have that exact config and it works perfectly.

Just remember that at one point in the future, hpux will drop support for the A5158A and keep support fo rthe A6795A for a while longer, because it is a newer card. For instance, hpux 11.23 SAYS that it no longer supports the A5158A, but it works fine.

Have fun

You can mix A5158A and A6795A cards in one server. I recommend use of current fc driver for both cards:

If your server is N4000 (rp7400) note some restrictions of placing the cards in PCI slots.

I recommend system firmware upgrade also.
