cd player not working - says to insert disk when one is already in - I replaced the cd player and everything is wired in correctly. Do you have any ideas of what else to try to make the cd player work?

Hi Susie,
To my experience, this problem could be not detecting CD-ROM or if you could check it on " My Computer" and run a music CD, the CD recordable could be defective for not detect it.
Please try one tested music CD if it works OK and then let me know.

I actually got it working. It seems the settings were all goofed up by having too many media downloads to use. I also cleaned the cd rom and then it worked. I did try different cd's in it before I replaced the cd rom and none of them were detected. So I believe the cd rom was bad. Someone also spilled coffee inside everything which I am sure did not help the situation. It does play now though so all is well again. Thanks for responding.
