PCM 3.1 to PCM 3.2 migration

Hi,

i have some questions,

-Does PCM 3.2 64bit version support windows 2008 standard 64bit not R2? I see all documents about PCM 3.2 says it needs 2008 R2?

-I have PCM 3.1 installed on windows 2008 standard 64bit not R2, if i need to upgrade, i should choose PCM 3.2 64bit version, right? If so, can i install PCM 3.2 just on 3.1 and all configuration data will not be lost after upgrade?

-After upgrade PCM 3.1 to 3.2, do i need to upgrade agent from 3.1 to 3.2 also? If so, can i install agent 3.2 just on 3.1 and all configuration data will not be lost after upgrade and agent 3.2 will automatically connect to PCM 3.2 server?

Thanks,

There is a high percantage that it will work but in case you have same issue at any point with PCM, you will not get any support/assistance from HP as it is not official supported

If you have installed it on 64bit you should also use the 64 bit.

Only if you install a 32bit server/pcm 32bit and try to install the agent on a 64bit system then you might get a problem. this does look to work. I will suggest that you install every on the server version as recommend in the installation guide

Re: PCM 3.1 to PCM 3.2 migration

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Below is my other two questions.

-i have installed PCM 3.1 on Windows 2008 standard 64bit not R2, what should be my next steps? Upgrade to R2 then install PCM 3.2 or Upgrade to 3.2 then install R2?

-PCM 3.2 server could work with PCM 3.1 remote agent, right?

Thanks again.

Upgrade to R2 and then upgrade PCM to 3.2

I am not sure if this will work but I would remmend to overwrite the agent, when done with the installation use the http://ip:8040 url to download the new agent. I
