is daylight savings change include in patch kit 5 for 5.1b

I have applied patchkit 5 for tru64 5.1b. Does this include the needed change to daylight savings time? How do I tell?

One way would be to look at /etc/timezone files for timestamps that should be matching your installation time.

You can also use the zdump utility that will list all time changes. (look at the last lines)

I installed patches for the time change on one of my test servers but they did nothing so I used a manual procedure.

Hi Carolyn,

daylight saving change really depends on the
timezone that you configured.

The timezone is set up via a symbolic link in /etc/zoneinfo/ named "localtime" that points to a definition file.

For example: If you want your system to handle daylight saving for GMT.

Then you should have a link like this:
/etc/zoneinfo# ls -l localtime
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 3 Nov 29 08:24 localtime -> GMT

Or if you want it to be CET/Berlin.
/etc/zoneinfo# ls -l localtime
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 15 Nov 29 09:27 localtime -> ./Europe/Berlin

Please note also, that there is a EarlyReleasePatch available for that topic.
