VRAID for Oracle data & NFS storage?

Dear all,

Which VRAID is good for Oracle data? And which VRAID is good for NFS storage?

Thanks

Re: VRAID for Oracle data & NFS storage?

I would personally use 1+0 for Oracle data (much better performance than 5 for random reads) & 5 for NFS (proper balance between storage cost & performance)

Re: VRAID for Oracle data & NFS storage?

VRAID? So you have EVA storage?
I did several Oracle instalations on EVA storages. Allways use VRAID1 for file systems (or raw devices) that contain Oracle data files!
VRAID5 is not good for IO intensive applications.
NFS?
It depends. If it is read intensive, and not write intersive you can use VRAID5. If it would be write intensive, also use VRAID1.
Do NOT use VRAID0!
