SQL 2005 Reporting Services under HP PolyServe

Has anyone configured SQL 2005 Reporting Services under PolyServe?

It seems to work with Enterprise Edition but not Standard. It, SSRS, assumes we are setting up a scale-out/load balanced architecture rather than a fail-over configuration.

As a result I can have the dB move around but the Reporting Services are limited to running on only one node. Or at least only can be configured on one node under Standard Edition.

BlackHawk, did you ever get an answer for this? I'm dealing with a similiar problem

Basically there is nothing PolyServe can do about it. It is a limitation of Standard Edition.

Only Enterprise will support failover under PolyServe.

Thank you BlackHawk, I wish the PolyServe documentation provided a note explaining this, so I wouldn't have wasted my time trying. I figured since all we wanted was fail-over the Standard Edition would be enough.

Yup, a Microsoft limitation

This article says that SQL Server Standard edition does not support SSRS Scale out.

If you follow the instructions for the poly deployment and the deployment for the scale out deployment you will see they are almost the same.

Polyserve uses the shared database which is the scaled out deployment so no Polyserve does not support the standard edition.
