Firmware upgrade

Dear All,

I have 2 Procurce switches that i need to upgrade to the latest firmware and BootROM.

 

3500yl-48G(J8693A)

running firmware: K.15.04.0007,ROMK.15.13

desidered firmware: YA.15.16.0005

 

 2530-48G-PoEP Switch(J9772A)

running firmware: YA.15.10.0003, ROM YA.15.09

desidered firmware: YA.15.16.0005

 

Can I upgrete them directly, or I need some specific procedures?

Can you suggest me a simple way to upgrade them (I'm really new in this...)

If you have a TFTP or SFTP server in your network, you can copy the new firmware to the switch by CLI:

 

copy tftp flash <ip addr of tftp server> <file name> primary

 

And then reload when the transfer is finished.

 

 

Otherwise, you can connect to the web interface of the switch and upgrade from there (System->Updates).

Is it safe to move from so old firmare directly to the latest ones?

Follow the version release notes and your your desired code release. 

 

For K.15.16.0005:

If your software version is K13.58 or newer (BootROM K.12.17 or newer; use show flash command) you can then update directly into software version K.15.16.0005 (BootROM K.15.30).

 

Relaease notes are attached.
