HP 2920 stack - What happens with the old config?
Hi everyone,
we currently have two HP 2920 switches that are being used without stacking. Now we are extending our infrastructure and want to stack these switches. If we stack them according to the manual (with the stacking modules), wha happens to the current configuration? Do we have to reconfigure VLANs and whatever else is currently active?
Thanks!
Best regards
Sven

Re: HP 2920 stack - What happens with the old config?
The stack will assume the config of one of the switches, which ever one becomes the commander.
You can configure a priority so that one switch will become a commander assuming all else is equal.
Keep in mind that interface names will change when stacking is enabled, from interface 1 to 1/1 for example.
What ever you choose to do, be sure to backup your config first just in case you need it.
