Procurve 8206 as an NTP Server ?

Hello,

I have a Procurve 8206 acting as a core switch,
it has an interface for vlan 10 (Servers VLAN) , and vlan 30 (Switches Management VLAN)
I configured sntp and I can successfully sync the core switch with a server in vlan 10.
I have many edge switches, and I wanted them to sync from the Core switch (over the management VLAN IP's), not from the server I used with the core, but they are not synching !
is this possible on the Procurve 8206 ? Can it act as an sntp server ? If so please share the config needed.

The ProCurve switches can only act as NTP clients, not NTP servers.

You could add one of the VMware zl modules into the 8200 (or 5400) chassis and run a Windows or Linux server with the NTP server software loaded.
