vlan tag configuration
Hi all, I need an hand configuring a little bit complicated network.
I have 2 switch HP Procurve, at level 1 I have a 2810-48g and at level 2 I have a V1810-24g.
They are 802.1Q vlan tagging compliant.
On swith 1 I need to create 3 vlan composed by 2 ports:
Vlan1: 47-48
Vlan2: 46-48
Vlan3: 45-48
On port 48 I need to connect an SQL server. On port 45-46-47 I need to connect 3 2° level switch. Each Vlan must not see others.
On Vlan1 I set ports 47-48 as untagged, connect port 47 to another switch and all work ok.
My problems start on Vlan2. I set port 48 as tagged and port 46 as untagged, on port 46 I connect switch V1810-24g (2° level). But I don't ping nothing connected in 2° level switch.
All machines connected in all vlans have the same ip class (192.168.20.x), do I need to use different range?
I think there is something missing in my configuration.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. This thread has been moevd from Switches, Hubs, Modems (Legacy ITRC forum) to ProCurve / ProVision-Based. - Hp Forum Moderator
